Generational Trauma
Breaking the cycles of your ancestors
It can end with you
Generational trauma is when trauma passes down from one generation to the next. The pain, unresolved distress, and repeated patterns left unhealed in one generation can deeply shape and affect the lives of the next. Healing begins with recognizing how the painful experiences and coping patterns of your parents and even grandparents shape your beliefs, emotions, and behaviors today—and then consciously working to transform them.
Sometimes generational trauma is easy to see and other times, it takes years to recognize how it quietly unfolds within your family. Growing up in it can make unhealthy patterns feel normal, so you learn to accept them without question. Or you might recognize them but feel resigned, thinking, “Well, that’s just my family—what choice do I have?”
You're breaking generational curses. That's why this doesn't come easy for you. You're who your bloodline has been waiting for. -Unkown
